It was the eve of the Ball.
The event that had been brewing for weeks. First as little whispers, evolving to rumours and then to full blown affirmation as there were sightings of Agatha’s servants moving through Gula many shops and stores like drones, ordering things, gathering things.
Dresses had appeared in the stores like spring flowers, an array of colours and styles that dazzled the senses with their male counterparts emitting an air of sauve and debonir. Bags, purses, shoes, hair accessories, scents, fans and even masks were soon displayed as well.
There were jewels and delicate metals to accent the throats and wrists, flowers to be presented to partners. Laces and frillies that seemed to make dresses float where they stood. Store clerks seemed adept at measuring and altering anything that caught the eye to suit the patron.

I created this fanart based on Jake Richmond's amazing comic "Modest Medusa". This is based on two of his characters "Gorgan" and "The Knight of Chains". I made it after seeing the most recent comic 278, which is my favourite to date.

If you haven't read this comic, I highly recommend it. I...am not sure if I did the characters justice. ^_^;
